Is it Time to Bring Back the Birch?

Posted by westfield on March 28, 2008

I have never been one for corporal punishment but I was given an update on the broken glass issue and I say it is time to bring back the birch.

I was discussing the recent airgun problem with a neighbour who informed me that her 7 year old daughter’s foot was cut by the broken shards puncturing her shoes as she walked to school.  A hazard identified in the original posting.  However, worse was yet to come as I was then told of another neighbour whose cat arrived home after being injured by airgun pellets.  Some sicko had shot the poor creature and it required veterinary care, which was unsuccessful and it had to be put to sleep.

However, that in itself is bad enough but the incident had been reported to the police and yet they made no mention of it in their monthly report to the community council.

Is it little wonder we are facing an increase in problems in Westfield when the police exchange do not accurately record incidences.  This means that the number of complaints from the residents of Westfield are low in comparison to other areas and therefore we get classed as a low priority.  This is not the first time they have been found out.  Perhaps the new boss of Cumbernauld Police can make a difference.  Then again am I living in cloud cuckoo land?

SO PLEASE COMPLAIN TO THE POLICE AND MAKE SURE IT IS RECORDED.  Get a record number and if it helps post your complaint here on this blog as well.
